Restaurant employee struck by stray bullet in South City

Police are investigating a shooting in South City where a restaurant worker was struck by a stray bullet while standing behind the counter.

The victim, 48, was working at the Buttery Restaurant on South Grand in the Tower Grove South neighborhood when a bullet came through the front window of the restaurant striking her in the chest while she was standing at the cash register.

Police say the victim suffered minor abrasions to her chest but refused treatment from EMS crews.

According to police, several calls came in for shots fired in the area of the Buttery Cafe however, no other victims were located.

The investigation is ongoing.
