ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Multiple children were at a park in St. Louis’ Penrose neighborhood when shots rang out Friday night.

Police said six children, ranging in ages from 4 months to 8 years, were at Eugene Tink Bradley Park on Margaretta when a 24-year-old man sustained a graze wound to his toe around 7:35 p.m.

The victim told police he was in the park with the children, who are reportedly related to him, when a disturbance occurred between an unknown group of juveniles and a man. When the victim asked the group to leave, they got belligerent, but eventually left, police said. Shortly after, a man began shooting toward the park.

The victim refused medical treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.
