Hawley is trying to challenge McCaskill for her US Senate seat and is considered the front-runner for the GOP nomination.

Hawley's campaign responded to McCaskill, saying, “Josh Hawley has always followed the evidence where ever it leads,” Hawley campaign spokesperson Kelli Ford said.  “McCaskill is a desperate 36-year career politician who is ranked as the most unpopular senator up for re-election in the entire U.S..”
