ST. LOUIS (News release / KMOV) -- The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to Friday's series opener against the Cubs that they have activated right-handed pitcher Sam Tuivailala and left-handed pitcher Ryan Sherriff from the 10-day disabled list.
Austin Gomber and first baseman Luke Voit were sent down to Memphis (AAA).
Tuivailala appeared in four games for the Cardinals last month, before going on the disabled list on April 10. Sherriff worked 2.2 innings in three appearances for the Cardinals in April before going on the D.L. on April 6.
Gomber, who yesterday was named the Cardinals Minor League Pitcher of the Month for April, was recalled on April 29 but had no appearances with the Cardinals. Voit was recalled on May 1, but did not appear in any games for St. Louis.
