LAKE ST.LOUIS, Mo.( KMOV.com) -- Nine-year-old Jasmin Morris inspired Duello Elementary in Lake St. Louis to wear pajamas in support of her recovery from liver transplant surgery.

Jasmin was diagnosed with a liver condition called Alogeal Syndrome.

"At birth, we found out that she had the syndrome. It's a syndrome that can affect her liver," said Jasmin's mother Melanie. "and a couple of weeks ago, Jasmin received a new liver."

Jasmin's third-grade classmates came up with "Pajamas for a Purpose" to assist her family financially while she was recovering. Basically, students at Duello Elementary would pay $1 to wear their pajamas to school in support of Jasmin's family.

"We came up with the having a school fundraiser on that Friday and all the money would go to help Jazz and her family the long road ahead," said Maleri, one of Jasmin's classmates.

Duello Elementary and Wentzville School District raised over $2,000 for Jasmin and her family.
