Police said a teen was shot and killed in North City Wednesday afternoon and another teen was wounded in a separate shooting in North County an hour and a half later.

Around 5:00 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of North Euclid Ave for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police located 14-year-old Oscar Johnson III suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Police said a 13-year-old boy was taken into custody. Neighbors told News 4 that the shooting occurred inside the victim's home. Linda Watson, who lives next door to the victim, said that the 14-year-old was shot by a friend.

"A beautiful young man, he never was in no kind of trouble, always helpful, always went to school," said Watson. "This might have been an accident, they just playing well you not supposed to do."

Around 6:30 p.m., police said 16-year-old was shot in the back near the intersection of Bowers and Rhea in Spanish Lake.

He was taken to a local hospital and his condition is unknown.
