ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

If you’ve wondered about Bulls roaming around in the Metro East, there is now an armadillo invasion!

Local pest control companies say they’re seeing more armadillos popping up in the area. Officials say the mammals can do some serious damage to yards and gardens.

Pest experts say they’ve seen armadillos along I-44 and have responded to calls out in Chesterfield and St. Charles County.

According to the CDC, some armadillos are naturally infected with Hansen's disease that can be transferred to humans, but the risk is low.

When it comes to trapping them, it’s best to leave that to the professionals.
