ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A World War II soldier will return home Wednesday.

The remains of Pfc. Billy Ball will arrive at Lambert Airport in the afternoon.

Records show ball, who is from Matthews, Missouri, survived the ‘Bataan Death march’ but died in a prison camp in 1942

A funeral for Ball will be held at Jefferson Barracks on Friday.

Matthews, Missouri is located about two hours south of St. Louis.
