ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- St. Louis police officers responding to a fight on Saturday afternoon were punched by a suspect and then attacked by a dog.
Police said the fight broke out following an argument between two men in the 4800 block of Sacramento, in north St. Louis' Penrose neighborhood. While fighting, police said a 46-year-old woman came out pointing a gun in their direction.
While trying to intervene by taking the suspect into custody, police said the man resisted arrest and struck two officers. Other officers were eventually called and they were able to get the suspect, a 37-year-old man, into custody.
As police went to arrest the woman with the gun, her dog opened a glass screen door and launched at a St. Louis officer, biting him. The officer shot the dog with his department-issued weapon. The Humane Society is now has the dog.
All of the officers' injuries are considered minor.
