O'FALLON, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Fixing illegal upgrades at an O’Fallon, Illinois baseball field could cost taxpayers thousands.

At issue is a press box at Brazier Field. The Illinois Attorney General is investigating additions made by the O’Fallon High School baseball team’s boosters.

Someone complained about a lack of an elevator at the press box after upgrades were done. The unapproved upgrades included a locker room, coach’s office and a bathroom.

In an email, O’Fallon High School District 203 said they received a permit in 2007 to build the press box but the upgrades never received approval from the superintendent, school board or city.

News 4 tried to question the team’s coach and some supporters, but nobody was willing to comment.

O’Fallon’s city inspector told News 4 he not sure if anyone will be fined or cited for what happened. Fixing the problem could cost almost $100,000.
