LITCHFIELD, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

There is no connection between remains found near a lake close to Litchfield, Illinois and a missing Macoupin County woman, authorities said.

The skeletal remains were found by a worker near Lake Lou Yaeger during the evening hours Wednesday.

The family of Denita Hedden, who has been missing since January, said the remains discovered were a woman and they are waiting to see if the remains are hers. Thursday. police said there currently appears to be no connection between Hedden and the remains that were found.

Hedden was spotted at a St. Louis casino the day she disappeared.

Thursday morning, investigators were seen back at the area the remains were found.
