FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Franklin County authorities have found 37-year-old Ricky A. Johnson, Jr., who escaped from a Franklin County jail Wednesday morning.

At approximately 2 p.m., a citizen spotted Johnson running in the area of Prairie Dell Road and Denmark Road in Union. Two Franklin County detectives located the suspect in the Stable Stone Subdivision soon after. Upon confronting him, Johnson, Jr. surrendered to police.

Johnson ran out the rear door of the jail after a civilian kitchen staff member opened it to enter the building around 6 a.m. The inmate reportedly was assigned as a kitchen trustee.

Johnson was wearing blue pants and a white t-shirt at the time he escaped. The 6-foot tall, 160 pound inmate was last seen running northeast.
