ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

It’s been a rough few weeks for those who help abandoned, neglected or lost animals. Earlier this month there were two separate incidents in which SUVs were stolen from those trying to help animals and just last Friday, a truck belonging to Stray Rescue was stolen.

The truck was stolen from the Stray Rescue warehouse around 2 p.m. Friday, April 20. The truck was empty but workers were getting ready to load it up with supplies.

As of Monday morning, Stray Rescue was working with Belleville Police to get its truck back. The stolen truck was reportedly involved in a chase and crash over the weekend in the Metro-East. Police later arrested three suspects, one is from Georgia, another is from Florissant and a female suspect is described as homeless.

Stray Rescue was able to pick up the truck from police Monday afternoon. They told News 4 the car suffered minor damage to the front end and will need some alignment work.
