MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A suspect was taken into custody after a man was shot multiple times outside a Maryland Heights hotel overnight.

Around 12:15 a.m. Monday police were called to the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn at 11837 Lackland Road for a reported shooting. When they arrived, they found a 28-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to his leg and torso. The victim also had sustained several facial and head lacerations.

The victim was taken to the hospital and listed in serious but stable condition.

The suspect, described as a 23-year-old man, was taken into custody while attempting to leave the shooting scene. Police said they believe the shooting may have been related to a disagreement involving a woman, who was also at the shooting scene.
