Investigation underway after fatal crash in North St. Louis

NORTH ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A two vehicle accident in North St. Louis left one person dead Sunday afternoon. 

Carl Evans, 28, is being identified as the deceased victim involved in the crash that occurred around 2 p.m.

The accident happened near Page Ave and Pendleton Ave in the Vandeventer neighborhood. 

Evans was driving a 2014 Hyundai Accent eastbound on Page at a high rate of speed. According to further investigation, Evans ran a red light at Pendleton and struck a 2000 Toyota Camry with a 67-year-old and 60-year-old inside the vehicle. 

Evan's vehicle spun out of control, rolled, and struck the light on the southeast corner of Page and Pendleton. Evans was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. 

The 67-year-old driver was transported to a hospital where she is listed in critical but stable condition. The 60-year-old passenger was also transported in the hospital in serious condition. 

Accident Reconstruction was called and will continue this investigation.
