ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Police said several people including an officer were injured after a driver rammed a squad car, led officers on a chase and collided with another car in North County.

Police said St. Louis County officers were patrolling near Green Valley Drive and Bella Clare Drive when they noticed a suspicious 2017 Ford F-150 truck parked at Midwest Petroleum in the 1900 block of Chambers Drive.

An officer tried to contact the driver and parked her patrol car. As she started to get out of her squad car, the driver of F-150 rammed the police car and then tried to drive away.

Police said another nearby officer then started chasing the F-150, which ran a red light at Bellefontaine and Chambers and hit a Nissan. The truck then overturned, police said.

Officers took the 27-year-old driver of the F-150 into custody. He suffered minor injuries.

Five others in the truck, four juveniles and one adult, a woman driving the Nissan and an officer all suffered minor injuries.

The squad car was damaged beyond repair, police said.

Police said an investigation later showed the Ford F-150 was taken in a carjacking in Illinois on March 12.
