ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

This Wednesday marks the one-year anniversary of St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson being in office.

Krewson released a report she’s calling “Our First Year” where she lays out she’s done and what she is still working on completing.

The Mayor’s number one priority remains neighborhood safety. Krewson also stated in her report that she is working with a tight city budget and ever-shrinking state and federal resources

Other bullet points in her report include, taking down vacant buildings, improve trash pick up and to put more police on the streets.

In her one year in office, she has hired new Police Chief John Hayden. She acknowledges the unrest after the Stockley verdict and the nationwide attention it received may have a long-term impact on bringing in business and conventions.

Krewson made St. Louis history when she was elected as the first female mayor of the city. When she was asked about the toughest part of the job she said there’s a huge learning curve and every day is unpredictable.
