MADISON COUNTY, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Madison County wants to make sure its seniors are protected from scams.

The latest census reports show more than 41,000 seniors live in Madison County. Another 12,000 live alone.

The county rolled out its Triad program on Wednesday, a one-stop shop of resources for seniors.

“Simple things like how to prepare for the spring-like storms, all the way to how to avoid being taken in a scam with somebody potentially knocking on your door wanting to do a service for you,” said Toni Corona with the Madison County Public Health Department.

A website has also been launched for the program, it includes more than a dozen of the most common scams that target the elderly.

There is also a list of resources that seniors may need such as contacts for home delivered meals and rehab centers.
