ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The 2018 Boston Marathon was cold, rainy and full of storylines but one storyline has a special connection to St. Louis.

Rockwood teacher Steven Stallis is back at school all ready with his medal showing he finished the race as well as a yellow jacket.

The yellow jacket is not his but rather a woman’s medium; it was given to him by a fan during the race.

With the miserable conditions, Stallis struggled for the first 15 miles and was not feeling well. That’s when he stopped near a group of spectators. That’s when an unknown woman offered him a jacket and encouraged him to keep running.

Stallis wanted to give the jacket back to the woman. He tried contacting marathon officials, Boston TV stations and posted all over social media.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Stallis now has the phone number of the woman but has yet to contact her.
