Man charged with attempting to set Potosi home on fire

A Potosi man is being charged with Arson in connection with property damage after police say he attempted to set a home on fire after an argument with a woman.

According to court documents, on April 7 the Washington County Sheriff’s Department was called to the 10000 block of Hyland Dr. in Potosi for arson.

Police say White damaged a home by placing a mop handle into a wood furnace that was outside the home.

White pulled out the burning mop handle and set it next to a curtain that was hanging in the front doorway of the home and lit it on fire.

White is being held in the Washington County hail on a $20,000 bond.
