(CNN/Meredith) – A man appeared to take justice into his own hands when he was captured on camera breaking the windows of a car involved in a hit and run.
Monika Ramirez shot the scene on her cell phone in downtown Miami on Sunday.
On video, two men were seen yelling at the driver to stop, pounding on his car and trying to open the car doors.
The driver managed to drive onto another street where the crowd followed.
One person then walked out from a white van, pulled out a sledgehammer and began breaking the windows of the car.

The driver then managed to pull away again. Police say the driver, 25-year-old Maxwell Lagutenko, was later arrested for the hit and run.
He now faces charges of fleeing and eluding police, leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage and reckless driving.
An arrest report said he may have been high on narcotics.
