Shooting in Bay Minette sends 2 to hospital

Bay Minette Police said a Monday night shooting sent a man and woman to the hospital. 

Officers received a call just before 8 p.m. reporting shots fired at 218 East Hickory Street. When police arrived on the scene, a man was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and leg. He was rushed to USA Medical Center in Mobile by ambulance.  

A short time later, a woman suffering a gunshot wound to her chest arrived at North Baldwin Infirmary in a personal vehicle. Police said Life Flight took her to USA Medical Center for treatment. 

On Tuesday, Bay Minette Police identified the shooting victims as Anthony J. Williams and Latasha Tiane Mims.

The Bay Minette Police Department says it "has two suspects possibly but have not positively confirmed if the individuals are responsible for the shooting. When that information is confirmed we will release that to the public."

Williams is in serious but stable condition at USA Medical Center in Mobile, police said.

Mims is in stable condition at USA Medical Center, police said.
