Driver blinded by sun crashes into school bus in North City

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A school bus was hit by a car in north St. Louis Friday morning.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Bishop P L Scott Avenue at St. Louis Avenue Friday morning.

The driver of the car, described as an off-duty St. Louis City paramedic, told officials he was blinded by the sun when he t-boned the school bus.

Five students on the bus were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. Two students refused treatment and were picked up by their parents. The ages of the children on the bus are unknown but the students attend Pamoja Preparatory Academy at Cole Academy.

The driver of the bus and the driver of the car refused medical treatment at the scene.
