The decision by Dick's Sporting Goods to stop sales on assault-style firearms has gun control advocates applauding and gun rights advocates saying it will only help sales elsewhere.

"It's really a testament to how the gun debate has changed," says Becky Morgan of Missouri chapter of Moms Demand Action

Morgan says her group has seen a surge in attention after the Parkland, FL shooting and she was active earlier his week speaking out against a bill in the Missouri House to allow guns on college campuses.

"It's a culture change and that's a precursor to legislative change," Morgan says.

At Metro Shooting Supplies in Bridgeton, owner Steve King called Dick's decision a publicity stunt and says sales in his shop of AR-15's have been rising

"People are going to see Dick's is caving in to the anti-gun people," King says.

"We're going to sell them no matter what."
