A vigil was held Sunday for a sixth grade math teacher at Prairie View Elementary school who was found unresponsive in her classroom.

Lynn Ibos ,53, was found by two custodians several hours after the school day ended Friday. She was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A cause of death has not been released but a spokesperson from the Wentzville school district said no foul play is suspected.

Ibos had been a teacher at the elementary school for 10 years.

"She impacted my life and my future much more than anyone else could have," student Samantha Kirby said.

Kirby was one of many would arrived at Prairie View Elementary to honor Ibos. From students to parents, everyone had a story to tell about the teacher.

"She was always there for me, she always tried to show the positive in all situation, she made me look at life differently," said Kirby.

Parent Lindsey Stripes said Ibos contributed a lot to the elementary school.

"Amazing teacher, amazing person, she did so much for our school," Stripes said.

The teacher's sudden death left a hole in the Wentzville School District but it's a hole the will be filled with her legacy. Her co-workers were seen wearing 'Live like Lynn' shirts at the vigil.

Superintendent Dr. Curtis Cain said the staff want to 'live like her' and be the positive role model for students.

"What made her exceptionally special was her heart, her heart for students and her unwavering commitment to what was in the best interest for students," Cain said.

The school district created a fundraiser in her name to help carry in remembrance of someone who gave back to others everyday.

In lieu of flowers, people can donate to the Lynn Account through the Prairie View Elementary Paypal account.

In a Facebook post, the Prairie View Elementary school thanked the community who came to the vigil.

Counselors will be on hand for staff and students all week.
