GULF SHORES, AL (WALA) -

A Friday crash near Gulf Shores claimed the life of a 85-year-old Wisconsin man, who was a passenger in one of the crash vehicles, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

At about 8:50 p.m. Carolyn M. Anderson, 66, of Green Bay, Wisc., was traveling west on Alabama 180 about seven miles west of Gulf Shores, according to Trooper Lt. Joe Piggott with ALEA. As Anderson attempted to make a left turn from the roadway, the 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan she was driving was struck by a 2013 Nissan Juke driven by Kimberly M. Stokley, 22, of Summerdale, Piggott said in an email to news media.

He said Anderson and Stokley were both transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla., for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Lawrence E. Anderson, 85, also of Green Bay, was a passenger in the Dodge and was killed in the crash, Piggott said.

No charges have been filed and no further information is available as Troopers continue to investigate the cause, Piggott said.
