ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Those who spoke to News 4 about whether Gov. Eric Greitens should resign in light of the recent indictment against him had mixed opinions on the matter.

Greitens was indicted on a charge of invasion of privacy. He is accused of taking a photo of a woman in a "state of full or partial nudity without the knowledge and consent" of that woman. The charge also says the photograph was taken "in a place where a person would have a reasonable expectation of privacy, and the defendant subsequently transmitted the image contained in the photograph in a manner that allowed access to that image via a computer."

In a recording made by the woman’s then-husband, she said she had an affair with Greitens, that he took the photo and threatened to use it as blackmail if she spoke about the affair.

Greitens has admitted to the affair but has denied wrongdoing connected to it. He has called the allegations “baseless.”

Many lawmakers, including those in Greitens’ own party, have called on him to resign. A committee of lawmakers is being formed to investigate Greitens.

Some people say Greitens should resign because the accusations have taken away his ability to govern. Others said he should stand firm and fight if he truly believes he is innocent.

One woman told News 4 that Greitens should step down because he ran as a family values candidate and that the affair has sullied what he ran on.
