WASHINGTON (AP/Meredith) — The White House was on lockdown for about an hour Friday after a passenger vehicle struck a security barrier.

The U.S. Secret Service tweeted that the vehicle "did not breach the security barrier of the White House complex." No shots were fired during the incident, the Secret Service said.

The agency added that the 35-year-old female driver, identified as Jessica R. Ford, of La Vergne, Tenn., according to the Washington, D.C police department, was "immediately apprehended." Ford has had other encounters with the Secret Service, "resulting in numerous arrests for a variety of criminal violations."

Who is Jessica Ford?

According to the Washington Post, Ford was charged with a misdemeanor count of unlawful entry after she allegedly tried to climb over the White House fence in April of 2017.

A judge ordered Ford to "stay away from the White House grounds and nearby area," the Post reported. It also said she told a Secret Service officer that she was "going to jump the fence."

The Secret Service said Ford was charged Friday with numerous, unspecified criminal violations and turned over to the District of Columbia police department.

Ford also has a lengthy criminal history in Tennessee.

In July 2003, Ford was charged with public intoxication, misuse of 911 and resisting stop-and-frisk halt. In Sept. 2003, she faced more charges from Tenn. Dept. of Safety officials, including DUI, refusing a blood-alcohol test and violating open container laws.

Later that same year, Ford was cited on two occasions for felony prescription fraud. The first incident occurred in Murfreesboro in November, and the second in December in Smyrna.

Her employment history also ends in 2003 -- when she was listed as a server at Waffle House and Demos' Restaurant in Smyrna.

Ford faced several more charges related to the string of incidents from 2004 to 2006, including multiple counts of violation of probation, resisting arrest and failure to appear by Smyrna Police, Murfreesboro Police and Rutherford Co. Sheriff's Office.

She was jailed intermittently during that period, as well.

Ford registered as an ex-con felony drug offender in Davidson Co. in Nov. of 2011.

Soon after, she was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass by Metro Police in Dec. 2011 and failure to appear in court on those charges in Feb. 2012. Both incidents listed her under the name Jessica Ferrer.

Trumps' response

Trump praised the agency's handling of the situation in a tweet Friday afternoon: "Thank you to the great men and women of the United States @SecretService for a job well done!"

The president had been hosting Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull at the White House. Turnbull remained at the White House as the incident was being investigated.

The Secret Service says no law enforcement personnel were injured in the incident.
