Teen arrested after threatening to bring gun to Fox Sr. High School

Arnold Police have released details on an investigation involving a 16-year-old threatening to bring a firearm to Fox Senior High School.

On Thursday around 4:30 p.m., police were made aware that a student from the school had sent messages to other students about the threat. The student told the other students to be sick from school on Tuesday, February 20 and made reference to him bringing a gun and possibly explosives on that date.

After the investigation, police were able to confirm the messages and locate the male student at his residence in Arnold. Following his arrest, the student confessed to making the threat and indicated he had no intention of following through with threat. He told police he was merely seeking attention.

Police searched the home of the student and did not locate any items relative to the threat.

Police believe that there appears to have been no threat to student, faculty or staff at the school but have increased patrol in the area. The Arnold Police want to assure the family’s of the students and faculty that they take these threats very seriously and will continue to be in regular contact with school officials.

The investigation is ongoing.
