COTTLEVILLE, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A fourth grader shaved his head for a little girl with alopecia at a St. Charles County school.
Audrey Sunenberg, a kindergartner at St. Josephs, had curly blonde hair before experiencing unexplained excessive hair loss. She was diagnosed with alopecia the summer before starting Kindergarten and returned to school with little to no hair.
A next-door neighbor, who was also a student at St. Josephs, Bryson Isul decided to go bald after learning of Audrey’s disease.
Bryson’s mom said, “I wasn’t expecting a response quite so strong from a 10-year old but, he was insistent. So, we came up with a plan together and we didn’t hesitate to say yes.”
After the big chop, Bryson surprised Audrey at a dinner that he arranged with Audrey’s parents.
"I was just hoping it would show her that she doesn’t need to be alone,” Bryson said.
Since then, Bryson's hair has grown back but Audrey still remembers what he did.
