SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

A Carondelet family has been hit with tragedy twice in less than a week.

On Friday, their home where the parents and four kids live caught fire and they lost almost everything.

Then days later, their trailer was stolen which they were planning to use to move items they can salvage.

“Why would you do that to somebody that doesn’t have anything right now?” asked William Draper.

Draper’s son was injured in the fire while trying to save the family’s pets.

They’re grateful he is okay, but they lost one cat to the flames.

Now they are asking for help getting their trailer back.

“It sat out there for years and I never had an issue. Then as soon as my house catches on fire and my security system is not working, someone takes advantage and decides they want to steal it,” Draper said.

Draper said he hopes some of the trailer’s characteristics will help someone find it.

He said he custom built the side rails on it and the front of the trailer has damage from bottoming out. Draper added the top part of the jack is bent forward.

The family is currently staying at a hotel and a Go Fund Me page has been set up to help them restart their lives.

If you know anything about where the trailer, contact police.
