Police: Florissant man punched, bit girlfriend to stop her from leaving home

FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A Florissant man is accused of beating up and threatening to kill his girlfriend during an argument earlier in the month.

Angel Perez allegedly punched, kicked and threw his girlfriend into a wall during an argument on Feb. 9. According to police, Perez also threatened to kill her and himself with a sharp object.

When the victim attempted to escape, Perez reportedly stopped her by pulling her hair, biting her and punching her.

According to police, the victim was unable to leave the residence until the day after the alleged assault. After leaving the residence, the victim immediately went to police.

Police said Perez was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Perez with third-degree domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon and kidnapping.
