KIRKWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Kirkwood students are taking a break from the standard curriculum to explore their passion for fashion.
Students at North Kirkwood Middle are designing their own clothes and sashaying down the red carpet to get the full experience of the fashion industry. During the school’s pursuit week, students will explore various career fields in the art industry.
Eighth-grader Lauren Gadkari said the project runway-inspired event is a great way to explore her own creativity.
"It’s kind of relaxing to have a break from that and use a different part of our brain," Gadkari said.
Just the like designers in the industry, students are challenging themselves to incorporate unique items like trash bags in their designs.
