ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A concrete traffic ball was lodged under a U-Haul truck in South City at the end of last week.

A witness told News 4 the ball became wedged under the truck’s right-rear tire after the U-Haul appeared to have shorted a corner Friday afternoon along South Compton near Russell. After hitting the ball and ripping it from the pipe used to install it in the ground, the truck drove about 150-feet before stopping, according to the witness.

At the end of January, a different concrete traffic ball was hit and ended up rolling one block north along Compton Avenue and Lafayette Avenue.

The concrete balls were installed a couple of months ago in an attempt to slow drivers.
