Wanted! Missouri inmate escapes custody

POTOSI (KMOV.com) -

An inmate from Potosi Correctional Center in Potosi, Mo. is on the run after authorities say he walked away from the facility Tuesday morning.

Jacob Dylan Martin was last seen walking away from a Missouri Department of Transportation work site about 18 miles south of Patton, Mo. while on work release.

The incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. Local officers and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are working with the Department of Corrections to capture Martin.

The K-9 unit from Farmington Correctional Center has been dispatched and the Corrections Emergency Response Team has been activated to help with the search.

Martin is 22 years old and about 5’10 and 164 pounds. Residents are asked to call police or the Missouri State Highway Patrol if you see him.

Martin is serving a 5-year sentence for two counts of tampering with a motor vehicle, burglary, and theft in Franklin County.

He has previous convictions for driving while intoxicated, shoplifting, and resisting arrest.
