Man wanted for allegedly assaulting wife while she held son in arms

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Police are searching for a 22-year-old man wanted for allegedly assaulting his wife while she was holding her son.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene in the 800 block of Destiny Drive in Villa Ridge about a domestic disturbance around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday.

When police arrived, deputies contacted the victim who told them she has been assaulted by her husband, Aaron C. Barton, after an argument.

When the assault occurred the victim say she was holding her baby in her arms.

The victim attempted to run away from the home with her child but Barton caught her and dragged her back inside the home.

The victim told police she was assaulted again. Her phone was taken by Barton and said she had no way of calling authorities.

The woman said she did eventually find her phone and was able to call 911. Deputies discovered evidence that was consistent with the victim’s story of the incident.

Barton was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest and he is currently being held at the Franklin County jail on a $50,000 cash only bond.
