ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) – A 63-year-old woman was pronounced dead in a fatal single-vehicle crash in St. Peters Monday.

Police say 63-year-old Mary Brown was killed in the crash that happened around 2:30 p.m.

St. Louis County Police responded to the Rockwood Valley Middle School located at 1220 Babler Park Dr. for a call for accident.

When police arrived, officers found a single car accident in which the car drove off the western portion of the parking lot, down an embankment and into a creek.

The driver was the only person inside the car and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.

At the time of the incident, emergency crews believe the woman had a medical event while behind the wheel.

The woman was waiting in line at the school to pick-up a student at dismissal time.

The Metro West Fire Protection District assisted in the response.
