FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Two students were transported to a local hospital following a hit-and-run in Florissant, Mo. Wednesday evening.

Five children and a school bus driver were onboard when a driver hit the bus and drove off. Two children reported having headaches and were transported as a precaution.

The accident occurred around 5:05 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 67 and Lindbergh near the vacant old Jamestown mall.

A second bus was called to the scene to transport any student that was not picked up by a family member.

Police are still looking for the car that was involved.

The accident and others are why the Hazelwood School District is launching a public safety campaign to remind drivers of the rules of the road and to remind students to be safe when getting off the bus.
