Police: Student at Belleville night class arrested after bringing gun to school

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

A 20-year-old man was taken into custody after police were called about an incident at Belleville Night School Tuesday night.

Around 9:25 p.m. police were called to investigate an incident that occurred at Belleville Night School held at Belleville West High School campus. While at the scene officers were informed of a damaged mirror in one of the men’s restrooms.

Belleville officers and the Belleville West School Resource officer investigated the damage and determined the mirror was shot with a gun.

Police identified a 20-year-old student as a person of interest. He was located on campus and immediately taken into custody. A gun was located during the arrest.

Belleville police does not believe the incident is related to any on-campus disturbance or altercation. No one was threatened or injured during this incident.
