Search for Ballwin burglary suspect leads to school lockdowns

BALLWIN, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

BALLWIN, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The Ballwin Police Department has called off a search for a burglary suspect that targeted a local home. 

Lockdowns placed for two schools has been lifted. Police believe the suspect has left the area. 

Police were called to a home in the 700 block of Trago Creek around 10:15 a.m. after a burglary was reported.

Officers are searching the area looking for the suspect that was spotted by the homeowner.

As a precautionary measure, schools along New Ballwin Rd. were placed on lockdown. Police said the schools on lockdown are Holy Infant School, Morgan Selvidge Middle School and Woerther Elementary School.
