ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A suspect was hit by a car while trying to get away from police in north St. Louis County Tuesday morning.

Just before 11 a.m., St. Louis County officers were called to the Citi Trends store on West Florissant for a report of a larceny. A description of the suspect was then broadcast and another police officer found an individual that matched the description in the area of New Halls Ferry Road and Dunn Road. After noticing police, the suspect fled from the officer and went towards Interstate 270.

After going to the interstate, the suspect was hit by a vehicle.

The incident closed all lanes of westbound Interstate 270 for about two hours.

The vehicle that hit the suspect stayed at the scene. 

No other details have been released.
