Police have arrested a man who shot allegedly killed a man in the parking lot of an apartment complex in North County Monday evening.

Montez Hoskin Jr., 23, was shot in the parking lot of the Oak Park Apartments in the 11000 block of Estrada.

On Tuesday, prosecutors charged Tyree Valdez, 21, of St. Louis with 2nd Degree murder. Police said the homicide stemmed from a drug deal.

Hoskin’s friends of drove him to the Bellefontaine Neighbors police station for help. Police then called an ambulance. Hoskin was taken to a hospital, where he died about an hour after.
