ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Miss Missouri 2017 Jennifer Davis spent some time with local girls Sunday, teaching them how they can feel like a "dazzling diva" while finding their confidence.

The second-annual Dazzling Divas for a Day event was held at St. Louis City Center Hotel, benefiting Children's Miracle Network of Greater St. Louis.

The goal of the event is to make girls ages 4-12 feel like a pampered diva with a day full of glitz and glamour.

The girls' hair and makeup was done by a professional stylist, and they were given a crown and even learned a dance routine.

"I want to empower these girls to know you can be loved and respected and still feel like a diva all day long as well," Davis said.

The Miss America Organization has teamed up with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to raise funds throughout the country. Contestants competing in Miss America-sponsored pageants are expected to raise funds for the charity.
