Suspect crashes after giving obscene gesture to officers during police chase

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A suspect was thrown from his motorcycle after giving an obscene gesture to pursuing officers in St. Louis County Friday.

Officials with the St. Ann Police Department said officers began chasing the suspect after a traffic violation in Breckenridge Hills. The chase was then picked up by police in Edmundson and St. Ann.

While St. Ann officers were chasing the motorcycle, the suspect reportedly turned around and gave an obscene gesture to police. When he did this, the motorcycle crashed into a wall. The suspect was flown about 150 to 200 feet from the motorcycle. He suffered a shattered shin and broken ankle. The motorcycle was broken into pieces in the crash.

According to St. Ann officers, the suspect was armed with a gun.

No other details regarding the chase or suspect have been released.
