ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Food lovers just got three new reasons to venture to downtown for lunch and it's all in one place.

The Eatery is a new food hall opening on street level of the One Metropolitan Square building on N. 6th St. on Monday, January 29. The soft opening began on Thursday.

Right now, there are only three restaurants in operation, but the goal is to have the maximum occupancy of five restaurants later this year. Two of the restaurants already exist in West County, Kimcheese, which is an Asian-fusion restaurant, and Dino's Deli, which is Greek-inspired food.

The third restaurant is Arista Gourmet Salads and Flat breads, which is completely new to the St. Louis area.

"I like that they have 3 restaurants in this one building. It gives you a variety instead of just having one," said Chris, who works in the Metropolitan Square building and frequents the downtown area for lunch.

"It is very much convenience," said Kim James, who's been working downtown for decades.

The goal of The Eatery is to create an easily accessible spot with quick food for workers and tourists in downtown.

"We really wanted to focus on unique chefs and what kind of menus they could bring," said Rick Spector, Senior Vice President of JLL, the investment management firm for the space.

Spector says The Eatery should be a destination for people with a variety of cravings to be able to eat together and for workers to be able to host meetings and accommodate everyone's tastes.

There are outlets and USB plug-ins at most tables in the space. There is also an 1,000 sq. ft. outdoor space that will have seating during the summer.

Right now, The Eatery is scheduled to operate Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. However, Spector says they may change those hours to accommodate crowds on Cardinal game days or during big conferences.
