NORTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

A group of students at Vashon High School have been awarded scholarships for college, all thanks to their school custodian.

According to the students, Vashon custodian George Love is well-liked. Love and his wife, Stephanie, started the Dorothy May scholarship, named after his mother, to offer supplemental $500 scholarships to college-bound students.

The Loves pay for the scholarships themselves!

“My wife and I believe if you really care about something you must have compassion and love, those are two things you cannot get a degree in,” said Love.

The Loves would like to expand the program to other schools and are seeking donations to help with that effort.
