FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Florissant police arrested a suspect Thursday in connection to a domestic incident that left a woman in critical condition.

Jerome Tolliver of the 1700 block of Beecher Dr. in St. Louis is charged with first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action.

On Tuesday, police responded to an assault call around 6:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Flicker.

Police say when they arrived on scene and entered the residence, they found a female victim with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The victim was conscious and officers immediately began rendering aid.

The woman was transported to an area hospital and was last reported in critical condition.

Investigators have determined that this was a domestic incident and quickly determined Tolliver as a suspect.

Tolliver is being held on a $200,000 bond at the St. Louis County Jail.
