ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Two people were hospitalized with critical injuries after being shot during a carjacking in north St. Louis overnight.

A 28-year-old woman was shot in the chest and a man was shot in the back and leg during the carjacking in the 4400 block of Anderson, near O’Fallon Park, just before 11 p.m. Monday.

After shooting the victims, the suspects took the 31-year-old man’s green 1997 Chevrolet Lumina. The stolen vehicle also has a blue hood, according to police.

The victims said there were three or four suspects who had white t-shirts covering their faces. The suspects were also seen driving a silver vehicle.

Both victims were taken to the hospital and listed in critical, stable condition.

In 2017 there were about 350 carjacking in the City of St. Louis. Experts said key FOB technology makes cars harder to hardwire so criminals turn to carjacking.
