WARREN COUNTY, Mo., (KMOV.com) – A man is in custody after leading troopers on a 59-mile police chase and admitting to be on drugs Saturday afternoon.

Police said an officer attempted to pull over a white Dodge Charger on Interstate eastbound I-70 near the 168 mile marker. Instead of stopping the vehicle, the suspect fled the scene leading police on pursuit.

The car reached up to 100 mph passing through Montgomery County.

Officers, with the help of Missouri State Highway Patrol, deployed spike stripes twice to end the pursuit. The vehicle caught two flat tires and exited off at Zumbhel Rd where he was taken into custody.

As officers were arresting him, the man admitted to being on an undisclosed controlled substances, police say.

The driver was transported to St. Johns East hospital for treatment and released into custody of the Warren County Jail.

No one was injured and there were no other cars involved
