ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Voters in St. Louis County will see a familiar name on the ballot during election season.

Former County Police Chief Tim Fitch kicked off his campaign for St. Louis County Council Wednesday.

Fitch retired in 2014 and has been working for Emerson ever since.

Fitch will run as a Republican.

He said one change he wants to make is from the current council.

“All of the dirty laundry is being aired out publicly. Like I said earlier, a lot of those things can be worked out behind the scenes,” said Fitch.

Candidates can officially file for the election on Feb. 27.

Fitch is the first candidate to officially announce to News 4 his intention to run for District 3.

Collen Wasinger is not seeking re-election after more than 10 years on the council.
